Our mission

Good soil for the Earth.

Efuka connects licensed, insured driver-businesses with patrons who want reliability, transparency, and fair pricing. This isn't about disrupting an industry. It's about building the alternative.

One that doesn't exploit the people who make it work.

Drivers are business owners, not gig workers. The platform is designed around that truth β€” from the economics to the compliance requirements to the scheduling model.

Culture shifts bottom-up. Building things that help people grow β€” drivers who can build real businesses, patrons who can get where they need to go without being exploited.

The problem

Why the rideshare industry needs an alternative.

The dominant platforms built billion-dollar companies on the backs of drivers who earn 60–65% of what patrons pay. The rest goes to platform fees and shareholder returns. Efuka flips that β€” you set a rate, riders pay that rate plus a 7% service fee, and you receive 83% of the fare upfront (93% once you hit your reserve cap).

Decrease

Drivers lose 40%

A driver making $50K takes home $31K. The people doing the work get the smallest slice β€” by design.

Surge pricing punishes everyone

The algorithm knows you're desperate and prices accordingly. Drivers rarely see most of that surge money either.

30% goes to app stores

Every native app transaction includes a 30% commission to Apple or Google. Just for existing in the store.

The system is designed to extract value from both sides while providing the minimum viable service. Drivers are treated as interchangeable. Riders are treated as a demand to be priced. Nobody wins except the platform.

The solution

How we're different.

Driver-first economics

Drivers receive 83% of each fare upfront (93% once they hit their reserve cap). Riders pay the rate plus a 7% service fee. Efuka's platform fee is 7% and a 10% dispute reserve is held for 90 days. Efuka absorbs Stripe processing and payout fees. The math works because we're not trying to extract maximum profit β€” we're building a sustainable ecosystem.

Scheduled, not on-demand

Riders book in advance. Drivers get a predictable income. No surge pricing. The 30-minute minimum ensures proper assignment and eliminates the panic of "who's coming?"

Professional drivers only

Every driver is a licensed business with commercial insurance and PUC compliance. We verify this before they take a single ride. No exceptions.

Built for real-world driving

Multi-stop routes with waypoint optimization. Stop management during the ride. Wait time tracking with fair billing. These aren't afterthoughts β€” they're the core experience.

Why I built this

From the driver's seat.

I've been driving for four years. I started my own private-driver business four years ago, right here in Colorado. Competing with Uber and Lyft dominating the market made it hard to build a book of regular clients, so I also drive for Lyft β€” where I'm currently rated as one of the most favorited drivers in the state.

My background is in software engineering, which let me build the platform I wished existed. I chose an open ride board instead of a surge model because I was tired of watching customers overcharged while drivers only saw a fraction of that money. In the private-driver world, work is usually scheduled β€” you know who you're riding with. I want riders to have that same freedom: pick your driver, reuse the ones you like, and count on consistent pricing.

Reliability is the whole point. I've heard it from Lyft riders for three years, especially outside central Denver: they schedule a ride, someone accepts, and then they wait 10 to 40 minutes β€” or longer β€” because the app can't guarantee the driver will actually be there. On Efuka, your driver is a business owner whose reputation is on the line. That changes the equation.

We absorb most Stripe fees because I want to help the other businesses on this platform, not tax them. The 30-minute minimum booking window gives drivers time to plan and travel to you. Lyft and Uber own on-demand; I'm focused on scheduled rides that actually show up.

Trust & compliance

Trust isn't a feature. It's the foundation.

Efuka operates under Colorado's transportation regulatory framework. All drivers must be registered with the Colorado PUC and carry their own commercial auto insurance. This is not optional β€” it's the baseline.

PUC compliance

Every driver is registered with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission. Compliance badges are visible on driver profiles.

Commercial insurance

All drivers carry their own professional coverage. Not personal auto insurance β€” commercial. Required before a single ride.

Ratings in both directions

Post-ride ratings hold both drivers and patrons accountable. The platform works because everyone has skin in the game.

The 30-minute advance booking requirement isn't a limitation β€” it's an intentional differentiator. It gives us time to properly assign drivers, eliminates the need for surge pricing, and ensures riders actually get the professional they booked.
